Expanding AIoT applications

Accelerating R&D of key AIoT technologies

  • Assisting local corporates in gaining industrial autonomy from all layers of IoT architecture, including sensors, networking, and system integration.
  • Combining with Taiwan’s key semiconductor components and mid- and downstream soft- and hardware devices, integration service providers, IoT platforms, etc. through development of related technologies to assist Taiwanese AIoT industry to transform from hardware design and manufacturing to the phase of being able to provide integrated soft-/ hardware system solutions.
  • Cooperating with international community to formulate and promote industry standards to enhance Taiwan’s core competitiveness in the emerging industry of AIoT.

Promoting the localization of 5G open networks

  • Establishing an environment with verified reliability and system integration for 5G open networks to integrate foreign and home manufacturers such as netcom equipment vendors, system integrators and application service providers to verify safety and reliability of domestically made 5G equipment, including functions & compatibility testing, performance verification and cybersecurity evaluation.
  • Gradually promoting localization of 5G equipment with vertical application testbeds and accelerating development of domestically made 5G open network equipment, and further gain autonomy in key 5G technologies to accelerate the development of total solutions of localized 5G open network.

Strengthen the application of 5G and AI digital technologies

  • Using 5G, AI, federated learning, and other digital technologies to strengthen development of smart city services in the fields of transportation, business, logistics, and therefore to improve operational efficiency and service quality.

Integrating capacity of local system integrators

Deepening IoT partnership with international community

  • Assisting Taiwan’s AIoT industries to strengthen link to international resources, further deepening cooperation between home and foreign manufacturers. Promoting development of AIoT innovative products or smart services by facilitating international collaboration among foreign enterprises, domestic corporations, and startups through foreign tech giants to enhance Taiwan’s innovation power in AIoT & startup sectors, and new business models.
  • Assisting Taiwanese industries and Japanese companies (e.g., Panasonic, NEC, Sony) in jointly developing AIoT, 5G and other solutions through Taiwan-Japan Industrial Collaboration Promotion Office (TJPO) to meet the needs of transnational cooperation for smart applications, and actively seek international business opportunities.

Building a world class ASVDP innovation cluster

  • Promoting interactions between foreign enterprises/startups and Taiwanese entities via industrial clusters as an important portal and strengthening matchmaking of businesses with a view to creating world class clusters.
  • Strengthening innovative capacity and driving digital transformation of local industries through establishment of "Asia-Silicon Valley Innovation R&D Center" in QingPu, Taoyuan and "Startup Terrace” in Linkuo, New Taipei and incubation resources from Kaohsiung Software Technology Park and Nankang Incubation Center.

Promoting exports of AIoT solutions to overseas markets

Promoting exports of System integration output

  • Encouraging System Integrators to export AIoT solutions to foreign markets by participating in international events, organizations and cooperating or co-investing with foreign partners, and establishing industrial parks or testbeds, etc.
  • Exporting successful solutions overseas via international cooperation and strategically working with Japanese companies to participate in their global layout to expand more businesses.

Expanding foreign businesses of local AIoT & startup:

  • Assisting Taiwanese IoT enterprises and startups in developing international markets and participating in international and representative exhibitions, forums, matchmaking events and other physical activities, and deepening relationship with key foreign market players.
  • Actively participating in global exhibitions through online exhibitions, remote exchange etc., to assist domestic AIoT related industries in gaining international cooperation opportunities, creating opportunities to enter the international markets, and thereby enhancing global visibility and boosting domestic companies to expand overseas markets.
